Background & Interests
I have been passionate about personal growth all my life.
Growing up as a Canadian in Japan and then spending time travelling as an adventurous young adult I landed in Santa Fe, inspired to study body-centred therapeutic modalities at the New Mexico School of Massage and Advanced Healing Arts.
Settling into the BC Kootenays, I began my 28 years of professional development at a women’s shelter, graduating as a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor after continually expanding my training and experience in crisis intervention, mental health, addiction, communication, trauma and supporting women fleeing violence. Drawing on my experience and training, I offer an integrated approach and adapt the sessions to meet the specific needs of clients.
I value a balanced and healthy lifestyle. I enjoy hiking in wild places, gardening, various forms of movement and dance, spiritual practices, singing with others and spending time with my 2 adult children and grandchildren. I have been involved in the human potential movement for 40 years and come from a multicultural background which has given me an appreciation for other cultures and diversity.
I am passionate about supporting those on their journey of self-exploration and providing the tools and strategies to develop greater resilience.
